Artist Elizabeth Roy dedicated “The Launch” to the 1400 women that worked in the Vancouver shipyards while the men fought overseas during WWII. It stands across from the dry docks in North Vancouver. Ms. Roy’s sculpture will serve as a reminder to an important period in Canadian history.
