This statue was erected in 2011 as a centennial celebration of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Though not lit in any way the IEEE logo at the top of the monument seems to glow because of the ingenious use of coloured Plexiglas layered between aluminum, drawing in ambient light from the perimeter of the logo.
